The service on offer from BBC Freesat, as displayed in the above table, is widely becoming more popular throughout the UK, due to it's varied entertainment channels, some of which are available in High Definition, free recording facilities, and no monthly subscriptions, ever!

It is important to note, that the BBC Freesat service will be increasing their channel line up to 200 during 2009, and further High Definition entertainment should also be available.

As the digital switchover commences, Freeview will also be increasing the channels available on it's service, and by the end of 2009, it is expected that Freeview will also launch their own High Definition entertainment. Freeview also have their own digital recording service, labeled Freeview+, allowing the home viewer to record direct to the Freeview set top box.

Sky Freesat does currently provide a wider choice of entertainment, however, there is no option for free HD channels, neither is there for free recording direct to your satellite receiver. For either of these options, a monthly subscription to Sky TV is required.
